40 Years of Promoting & Protecting a Positive Quality of Life in the Pine Knolls Community of Chapel Hill, NC

Children don’t stop learning during summer vacation – they just learn differently!

Summer camp at Pine Knolls Learning Center (PKLC) is a natural extension of the After School Program we provide throughout the academic year.

Our goal is to equip our children not just to survive – but to thrive – socially, emotionally, and academically.  Through field trips and in-house programs they will learn about their privileges, rights, and responsibilities as local AND global citizens.

Pines Community Center, Inc. has been a fixture in the predominantly African-American community of Pine Knolls for over 40 years.  PKLC believes that unity in diversity enriches us all. We invite applicants of all cultures, races, and economic backgrounds.

The requested weekly donation is $10-$50, depending on income.  NO CHILD WILL BE TURNED AWAY FOR FINANCIAL REASONS.  Admittance into the program will be on a first-come, first-served basis, secured by completing a registration form.
